Every year, millions of pounds of fishing nets are discarded. Through Bureo’s NetPlus® program, those same discarded nets are collected and re-engineered into high-performance Pertex® fabrics — materials that now form the shell of our two newest insulation pieces: the Pertex® Climashield Jacket and the Pertex® Down Puffer.
COLLECTING
Bureo enables fishermen around the world to responsibly return end-of-life nets through an incentivized recycling program.
PROCESSING & RECYCLING
Nets are sorted, cleaned, shredded and packed at Bureo facilities before being shipped to Bureo’s recycling partners.
SPINNING & WEAVING
NetPlus nylon pellets are spun into fine denier yarns, then precisely woven into high-performance Pertex fabrics.
Pertex® Climashield Jacket
Built for high-output activity and variable conditions, the Climashield Jacket combines Pertex® Quantum fabric with Climashield® Apex synthetic insulation — a pairing trusted in military and alpine environments for its warmth-to-weight ratio and packability.

Pertex® Down Puffer
Our warmest insulation piece yet, the Pertex® Down Puffer is super-light, windproof, and water-resistant. Inside, responsibly sourced down traps warmth efficiently without unnecessary weight.
- Ideal for static dry conditions: Performs best in cold, dry, static environments — whether at camp, on the dock, or during travel.
- Premium warmth: Filled with 800-fill power down, providing maximum warmth-to-weight performance.
- Box-baffle design: Maximizes loft by giving each section of down its own compartment, reducing compression and maintaining even insulation.
