FLORENCE has partnered with the Ocean Conservancy to protect and preserve the waters that connect us all. A portion of every Florence Membership now goes directly toward supporting ocean conservation initiatives—helping safeguard our coastlines, marine life, and the future of our planet’s most vital ecosystem.
Through the Global Ghost Gear Initiative, Ocean Conservancy works with governments, fishermen, and communities to recover lost or abandoned fishing gear—transforming one of the ocean’s most harmful forms of pollution into progress. This effort helps make innovations like our new Pertex® Jackets possible. Made from recycled fishing nets through Bureo’s NetPlus® material, these jackets represent a tangible outcome of the Ocean Conservancy’s impact—reducing plastic waste, empowering coastal communities, and helping restore the health of our ocean.
COLLECTING
End-of-life fish nets are collected through an incentivized recycling program.
RECYCLING
Using an advanced depolymerization process, nets are broken down and transformed into NetPlus nylon pellets.
SPINNING & WEAVING
NetPlus nylon pellets are spun into fine denier yarns, then precisely woven into high-performance Pertex fabrics.
